Vagina Surgery: A Comprehensive Article

Vagina Surgery, broadly called Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery, is a collection of procedures whose purpose is to repair or restore the vaginal anatomy. These surgeries may be performed due to various medical reasons such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary or fecal incontinence, abnormalities of the vagina, and injury or damage during childbirth. Some women opt for vagina surgery for aesthetic reasons, as a part of procedures known as vaginal rejuvenation or female genital plastic surgery.

The range of vagina surgeries includes procedures like vaginoplasty, hymenoplasty, labiaplasty, clitoral hood reduction, and more. Vaginoplasty, for instance, is a surgery that aims to tighten the vagina, usually after childbirth has resulted in looseness or slackness, while labiaplasty involves reducing the size of the labia minora or labia majora. Hymenoplasty, on the other hand, restores the hymen to a pre-sexual activity state for various cultural, religious, or personal reasons.

These surgeries often encompass a broad approach, focusing on the overall health and satisfaction of a woman, aiming to enhance both functional and aesthetic aspects. Thus, they can dramatically improve the quality of life for women who experience medical issues and bring a renewed sense of self-confidence in those who choose these procedures for aesthetic reasons.

It’s essential to keep in mind that these procedures should always be conducted by a qualified and experienced medical practitioner. Like any other surgery, vagina surgery carries potential risks, including bleeding, infection, changes in sensation, and complications related to anesthesia. Therefore, informed decision-making involving thorough discussions with the healthcare provider is vital.

Interestingly, when discussing genital aesthetic surgeries, it’s hard to ignore their male counterpart: penile enhancement surgery. Much like the various forms of female genital surgeries, penile enhancement surgery also aims to either increase the length or girth of the penis through surgery. Just as with the female procedures, this is done either for medical reasons, like a micropenis condition, or for aesthetic preferences. This surgical procedure involves techniques like ligament cutting, grafting, and the use of penile implants.

Regardless of the type of procedure, male or female, genital surgeries do more than just solve physical issues; they directly impact an individual’s psychological well-being and sexual health. The ultimate aim of undergoing these surgeries is to improve the affected individuals’ quality of life, and this is achieved by helping them regain lost confidence and self-esteem, in addition to resolving any health issues they might have.

In conclusion, vagina surgeries, like any medical procedure, should not be entered into lightly. They require significant thought, consultation, and understanding of potential risks and rewards. Being informed about all aspect of the surgery, including recovery and potential complications, should be at the forefront for anyone, male or female, considering genital plastic surgery.

The Pros And Cons Of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery}

Submitted by: Beth Ortiz

You’ve always been secure with the way you look, except for one thing: Your nose. Indeed, your nose has been the subject of frequent ridicule by your peers for as long as you can remember. Of course, now that you’re an adult the comments don’t really happen unless someone is drunk, but you’re still wondering if, perhaps, a change can’t be made.

Specifically, you’re thinking about getting cosmetic plastic surgery on your nose. You’ve decided that your ideal nose would be half the size of your current one, and slimmer too no more of that bulbous stuff. Yes, each time you look in the mirror, the idea of getting cosmetic plastic surgery seems more and more enticing.

Of course, you’re not one to just go right ahead and choose anyone for the cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. You pour over surgeon directories, ask lots of questions, and finally find one that is both reputable and offers reasonable costs. The benefits that you will be getting from the surgery are obvious. After all, look at what a little cosmetic plastic surgery did for Ashlee Simpson’s nose!

You just can’t wait to be able to walk into a room, any room (you’re not picky) and have people admire your nose. You can’t wait to see the looks on people’s faces when you reveal your new look! As excited as you are, there are some aspects that you’re not too excited about at all.

First of all, you’re going to have to recuperate for a couple of weeks. You can’t imagine walking around with that large bandage over your nose (note to self: remember to practice breathing through your mouth) so unless you start wearing a suspiciously large face mask, then it’s going to be just you and your cat in your apartment for a while.

Then, images of Morgan Fairchild and Michael Jackson flash through your head. Morgan Fairchild ended up with a new nose, but that new nose was entirely too small for her face, and she looks silly. Then, Michael Jackson’s nose is dissolving an only held together with some sort of putty. You’d rather have a big nose than no nose at all!

You need to comfort yourself by thinking about the fact that Morgan Fairchild had her plastic surgery done a hundred years ago, when techniques were still being developed. As for Michael Jackson, well, he’s obviously had more than a couple surgeries on that nose of his.

Nevertheless, you still need to see your chosen surgeon’s portfolio. You hurriedly log onto his website, and see the many noses he has transformed. Oh, look at that woman’s nose! It was completely crooked before, and had a big wart on it to boot! You really like her new nose, it looks very natural. Then, of course, there’s the guy who had one of those severely upturned noses. You think his new nose looks quite distinguished. You realize that any cosmetic procedure has its pros and cons, but as long as you have a professional surgeon who knows noses, then you’re all set.

Cosmetic Dentistry Advancement

Submitted by: Jonaha Knaacik

Fifty years ago, cosmetic dentistry was something only the privileged could afford. A perfect smile was something that you only saw in movies and magazines, but in today’s world, the smile of your dreams is attainable. Modern cosmetic dentistry is not only accessible, but affordable. Dental implants, teeth whitening and bleaching, and veneers are available to improve the appearance and health of your teeth.

Technology has improved so much that cosmetic dentistry is now common in society. The procedures can be done quickly and for less money. Soon, things like metal braces and metal crowns will be a thing of the past because of new material and better dental technology. Cosmetic dentists can now straighten teeth without the hardware and dental implants are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

In the far distant past, dentists used harmful chemicals for teeth whitening and even carved dental implants out of wood. There are teeth whitening products available now that can strengthen your teeth as well as whiten. Dental implants have also come a long way. Some implants are virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

In the past, dental implant procedures were long and painful. Today, it only takes two visits, during which a local anesthetic makes the process pain-free. Dental implant treatments require your cosmetic dentist to drill a small hole into your bone to place a titanium screw. This is what the permanent implant will be attached to.

The alignment of teeth is a big portion of cosmetic dentistry. Metal braces are slowly becoming less popular among patients. People have found the plastic, removable, clear retainers to be a better option to straighten their teeth. This eliminates the sores that often accompany metal braces and the need for teeth whitening to get rid of the marks that are left from the posts once they are removed.

Convenience is something cosmetic dentistry aims for. Many of us had to go through the stage where we wouldn’t smile because we didn’t want our braces to forever go down in history. Clear alignment retainers let you avoid this. Another advantage is being able to take them out while you eat and when you brush and floss your teeth. This makes proper dental hygiene easier for kids to keep up.

Dentures used to be the only option for those with missing teeth in cosmetic dentistry. These are uncomfortable and often cause dental problems such as bone loss. Dental implants have nearly replaced the need for dentures. Cosmetic dentists can now permanently replace the teeth, making them easier to clean. Teeth whitening options are becoming more and more numerous as well.

More and more cosmetic dentistry advancement is taking place in today’s methods of dental implants, teeth whitening, and cosmetic dental surgery all the time. Soon the perfect smile will be available to everyone. Another addition to the dental world is 3-D images of your teeth displayed on state of the art dental software.

Products for teeth whitening in cosmetic dentistry are becoming more available to those looking to whiten at home. A white smile is now perceived as a healthy smile, so there is no doubt that at-home teeth whitening products will become more and more popular. In just a few short minutes, you can have a noticeably brighter smile. Of course, it is a good idea to check with your dentist before doing any over the counter teeth whitening jobs to see if it is safe for your teeth.

When To Consider Spinal Pinched Nerve Surgery

By Patrick Foote

In more than 90 percent of cases, spinal pinched nerve surgery never becomes an option. Whether the associated nerve compression occurs within the cervical (neck) or lumbar (lower back) region, the pain, tingling, numbness, and/or muscle weakness caused by the compressed nerve normally can be managed conservatively (non-surgically). This can mean a course of prescription anti-inflammatory medication, or an exercise regimen supervised by a licensed physical therapist. It may also mean a series of corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation in the spine and block pain signals, or daily applications of heat or ice.

There are many forms of conservative treatments available, and some are more effective than others. The bottom line is, a pinched nerve (more accurately known as nerve compression) typically is not going to land a patient on an operating table unless an emergency situation occurs such as cauda equina syndrome. This is, of course, a broad statement, and not everyone is fortunate enough to achieve relief using non-surgical methods.

Anatomy of a Pinched Nerve in the Spine

Any consideration of whether to undergo spinal pinched nerve surgery requires an understanding of the potential causes of a pinched nerve in the spine. There are 31 pairs of spinal nerve roots branching off the spinal cord, running the length of the spinal column. These nerve roots exit the spinal column at each vertebral level through openings known as intervertebral foramina. These openings are formed by the interlocking vertebra and allow room for the nerve roots to pass. This room can become constricted in the presence of degenerative spine conditions such as bulging discs, bone spurs, herniated discs, and spondylolisthesis (vertebral slippage). Traumatic injury that compresses the vertebrae might also affect the amount of space available for nerve roots.

If a spinal nerve root becomes compressed, the area of the body innervated by that nerve will be affected. Nerve compression can cause localized pain, but the truly problematic symptoms are known as radiculopathy – traveling pain, the loss of sensation, and muscular weakness in the extremities. The location of the pinched nerve determines the area of the body affected. A pinched nerve in the cervical (neck) region typically produces symptoms in the shoulders, neck, upper back, arms, and fingers. Nerve compression in the lumbar (lower back) region affects the lower back, the buttocks, the legs, feet, and toes.

Pinched Nerve Surgery – a Subjective Decision

The problem with deciding whether to undergo an elective surgical procedure to decompress a pinched nerve is that there often is no definitive moment at which the conservative options prove ineffective. Because there are so many non-surgical methods available, and because no two cases are alike, a period of trial-and-error may be necessary to formulate the correct combination of treatments. Meanwhile, the patient’s level of discomfort may fluctuate, and only he or she can decide whether the pain and other symptoms are bearable. This makes the decision whether to resort to elective pinched nerve surgery extremely subjective, but there are a number of factors that can help sway a patient’s thinking:

— Have all available conservative methods been attempted?

— Have the chronic symptoms dramatically affected a patient’s happiness and well-being?

— Is the patient’s overall health conducive to successful surgery and recovery?

— Has the patient received a second (or even a third) opinion about his or her long-range prognosis?

Understanding the Risks of Pinched Nerve Surgery

Finally, if a patient has decided that he or she simply can’t achieve meaningful relief from back or neck pain using conservative methods, it’s time to consider the potential risks and side effects of decompression surgery. Spine surgery takes two basic forms: open back or neck surgery, or minimally invasive procedures. Both types have their risks, although the minimally invasive option typically has fewer risks and a shorter period of recuperation. No patient should consent to any form of spine surgery before thoroughly discussing the options, risks, and potential side effects with a doctor.

Nobody likes the thought of being old where your bones will get weak, hairs will turn into gray threads, wrinkles and lines will appear on your face and above all you will lose your attractive and charming looks. This is an established concept that freshness and beauty in terms of humans are always associated with youth and small age groups. We can t criticize this approach fully because as aging continues visible changes are noticed that affect not only human body and skin from inside, but also from outside. We can t stop aging as it is a natural process, but there is an anti aging treatment present natural as well as synthetic using which the process of aging can be slowed down.

The most irritating aspect of aging that troubles a person is the appearance of visible aging signs on the human body especially in the region of the face. Fine lines wrinkles, dark spots, pigmentations etc. they all contribute in providing a look to your face that will surely be not appreciated by you. Alternatives For Gluten Free Foods

By Terry Retter

Health issues are mainly the reasons why one eats gluten free foods. So, it is best to have the knowledge on what food contains gluten so it can be easily removed from our diet and find a substitute instead. Gluten is a kind of protein which is very strong and elastic particularly found in wheat, barley and rye. Baked products usually contain gluten. It is gluten that binds ingredients in cookies, pies, and cakes and also makes them moist. The texture of baked products is a result of the air trapped within the sticky boundaries of the products.

Some develop allergies and many avoid gluten because of a gluten intolerance or what is known as celiac disease. People suffering from this experience immune system reaction that actually breaks down the lining of the intestine that leads to malabsorption of nutrients.

Here are some alternative flours that are gluten free so there is little need to not be able to enjoy baked products.

— Potato starch flour – gluten free thickening agent perfect for cream based soups and sauces. A perfect substitute because of its high starch component. Mix with a small amount of water for hydration to start it works like a glue. Then, substitute it in place of flour but use half of the amount of flour called for to get the right proportion in the recipe. This is available in health food stores.

— Tapioca Flour – light, white and very smooth flour from cassava roots. Use this kind of flour for a nice, chewy baked products like French bread or white bread. This easily combines with soy flour and cornstarch and is available in health food stores.

— Corn Flour – milled from corn and blends well with cornmeal for muffins or cornbread. This is perfect for waffles or pancakes. This can be purchased in health food stores.

— Soy Flour – a nutty tasting flour rich in protein and high in fat content. The fat content makes baked products smooth in texture. This is combined with other flours to bake brownies, muffins and cookies or any baked products with fruits and nuts. Available in health food stores.

— Cornstarch – a refined starch that comes from corn. This is combined with other flours for baking. Mostly use as clear thickening agent for pudding, sauces and Asian cooking. Readily available in grocery stores and health food stores.

— Cornmeal – a ground corn that comes from either white or yellow meal. Usually combined with other flours and gives a strong, delicious corn flavour in white cakes, pan cakes and waffles. This can be bought in grocery stores and health food stores.

— Brown Rice Flour – comes from unpolished brown rice and has more nutritional value than typical flour because of the bran that it contains. Excellent for baking muffins and cookies or for more dense breads.

— White Rice Flour – a perfect basic flour for gluten free baking. This is excellent for baking because it doesn’t impart any unwanted flavours. This works well when combined with other flours. The best white rice flour is the fine textured one. This is readily purchased in Asian stores and health food stores.

Gluten Substitutes:

Since gluten is the substance that holds together baked products and make them moist and provides good textures, there is a need to find a substitute that will provide similar characteristics without changing texture or flavour. The following are best substitutes for gluten.

Xanthum Gum – this is formulated in the laboratory, and comes from the dried cell coat of Zanthomonas Campestris. This works well as a gluten substitute in yeast bread and other baked goods. This is available in health food stores.

Guar Gum – this is a powder form produced from the seed of Cyamopsis tetragonolobus. A more natural binder and an excellent substitute for gluten. This can be purchased in health food stores.

Pre – gel starch – an acceptable gluten substitute. This reduces crumbling in baked products. Availablein health food stores.

Eating gluten free is not really hard. It’s just knowing what best replaces gluten for the recipe that are being prepared. It is a matter of figuring out what works best as a replacement.

Nordic Track Ski Machine Top 3 Benefits Over Other Fitness Equipment

By Vienna Miller

The Nordic Track Ski Machine is an oldie but still a goodie – a classic piece of fitness equipment.

It put Nordic Track on the map over 20 years ago – before they made treadmills, ellipticals or home gyms.

The skiier works by simulating a cross-country skiing motion. There are 2 ‘skiis’ on roller rails that move forward and back. You attach your shoes to the foot straps and can then move back and forth, just like you do when cross country skiing.

You also have a pad at hip level that you lean against for support and arm pulleys to work your upper body (kind of like using ski poles).

By simulating a cross country skiing motion the NordicTrack skier lets you work your arms and legs (or just your legs if you don’t want the upper body workout). Just like cross country skiing, you get a total body workout which burns a lot of calories in a short time.

So is it a good fit for you? Well, here are 3 benefits a skier gives you over other types of fitness equipment to help you decide:

#1 More Calories Burned

Because you work your arms and legs at the same time, the ski machine gives you an overall total body workout. Plus you’re also getting a full range of motion with the leg skiing movements which uses more muscles and burns more calories.

This can mean you slim down very quickly. And because it doesn’t use heavy weights it can help you get a sleeker look (vs bulking up with weights).

Having tried out a Nordic Track Ski Machine some years ago, I can vouch for this. I started sweating almost immediately after starting my workout and my jeans were loose within 4 days of using it.

#2 Low Impact Workout

Unlike a treadmill, the skier provides a low – almost no – impact workout. This makes it a good option for those who may be prone to injury. It also gives a great alternative if you have hip, joint or back problems – but still want to get an effective workout.

#3 Holds Up Well Over The Long Run

When reading user reviews of this machine, you’ll notice that one thing sticks out. Many people have had their ski machine for 10+ years. Others had their skiers for years – and are buying a 2nd one because the first one finally broke down.

Not only does this show how much people like their ski machines – but it also shows how well they may hold up over the long run. And for a piece of fitness equipment that generally costs under $700, this is an impressive feat.

So those are 3 advantages – are there any disadvantages?

Well, you don’t get a lot of bells and whistles as you do with some other Nordic Track equipment like their treadmills or ellipticals. You do get a 5 window LED display that shows time, distance, calories burned and pulse so you can track your workout numbers.

But if you’re looking for more entertainment, you may want to set up your skier in front of your television – or charge your iPod and wear it while working out.

Bottom Line?

While it’s fairly simple, you do get some great advantages with the Nordic Track ski machine including highly effective calorie burning workouts, low impact exercise and decent long-term durability.

Overall if you’re looking for great value and fast results, the Nordic Track skier may be worth checking out.
