What Emotion And Brainwaves Have To Do With Your Chances For Success

Submitted by: Gregory Frost

Your chances for success can be very bright when you make the most out of your emotions and brainwaves. You can always have breakthroughs in every area of life when you re able to take full charge of your emotions through a clear understanding of how the brainwaves work.

To gain a clear understanding of the brainwaves, it s important you discover what the brainwave entrainment is all about. It refers to any kind of act that causes the brainwave frequencies to operate maximally. Usually, when your brain is actively engaged in a mental activity or when it s aroused or at rest, it normally generates some kind of waves. There are 4 kinds of brainwaves involved here. They include beta, alpha, theta and delta. Each of these brainwaves produces specific frequencies.

The beta wave represents the most intense state of alertness which usually results in extensive mental activity. The alpha wave normally indicates a relaxed state of the mind. The theta wave is usually activated in deep state of meditation while the delta wave is active during deep sleep.

The 4 brainwaves patterns discussed above have a lot to do with your emotion as a person. Your chances of success in life can be determined through a clear understanding of how each of the brainwaves work. It s very clear that each of the brainwaves conforms to a particular state of emotion. For instance, when you re engaged in a heightened mental activity, the beta brainwave is already in action. Your emotion at that time can be very high since your brain is busy going through a specific mental process. You can easily succeed in any mental activity you re engaged in at that specific moment.

Again, when you re in a relaxed state of mind, the alpha brainwave is in action. Your emotion at this time is also sure to be very relaxed. You can easily breathe an air of freedom at such moments of your life. When you engage in a deep meditation, the theta brainwave is launched into action. At this point, your emotion can be a bit relaxed since your mind is busy contemplating on a particular subject. Finally when you re in a very deep sleep state, the delta brainwave is in action. At this point, your emotion is completely quiet and dead. You may not even know what is happening in the physical realm until you wake up from your slumber.

Indeed, when you understand how emotions and brainwaves work together, you can always succeed in any endeavor you engage in all through your life. You can always be in total control of your mind and every thought or idea that runs through it. It s always important you put your emotions in check at all time. Your success so much depends on how you react at any point in time while you go about your normal life activities. If you succeed in gaining a perfect mastery over your emotions, you re sure to be very much in control of whatever plans or goals you have for your success in life.

New Zealand town subject to window smashers

Monday, November 20, 2006

Otaki, a small town located in the North Island of New Zealand, has been subject to vandals who have smashed around 70 windows in the local primary school, Otaki Primary School.

The smashed windows resulted in the closure of the primary school today. It is expected that the school will be open tomorrow.

The primary school was not the only property damaged. The police are reporting that the library, memorial hall, law offices, tyre factor, butchery and the citizen’s advice bureau were all attacked, with other attacks possible.

The police say that the damage was done on Saturday night. Business owners are still reporting property damage. Sergeant Mark Toms said: “The damage seems to be widespread, and has not been confined to the school. Mr Toms said that they “are following strong leads as to who is responsible for the vandalism.”

First deep space images from James Webb Space Telescope released

Friday, July 15, 2022

On Monday, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and US President Joe Biden presented the first image (see left) obtained by the Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam), an instrument on the James Webb Space Telescope.

The image, named Webb’s First Deep Field, shows thousands of galaxies in the SMACS 0723 galaxy cluster, about 4.6 billion light-years away from Earth. However, the area shown by the image is only a small portion of the Southern Hemisphere sky. The blended image (at left) resulted from the stitching together of numerous smaller images obtained at multiple wavelengths with far greater depth than achieved by the Hubble Space Telescope, the predecessor to James Webb.

The telescope entered its current orbit around the L2 Lagrange point from January 24, about 1,500,000 kilometers (932,057 mi) from Earth, on the opposite side of Earth from the Sun. This followed a month-long journey that began in late December 2021, following years of delays and several cost overruns. For its expected five- to ten-year service life, it is intended to study the most distant, and therefore the earliest galaxies formed after the Big Bang.

During its journey, dubbed “30 days of terror” by Sky & Telescope, the telescope successfully unfurled its 21 feet (6 m) wide mirror, deployed its sunshield and cooled down to below 50 degrees Kelvin as it traveled to the L2 Lagrange point.

L2 is a secure location for spacecraft where the gravitational pull of the Sun and the Earth is balanced. Full scientific operations will involve thirteen teams of scientists. The primary mission is to find the most distant and earliest galaxies formed after the Big Bang to help study the origins of the Universe. The nominal mission time is five years, with a goal of ten. The location of its orbit is very different to the Hubble Space Telescope, which orbits much closer to Earth. James Webb’s instruments face away from the Sun, giving a greater clarity to the images it will obtain compared to Hubble.

An Ariane 5 launch vehicle carried the telescope to space on December 25 from the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana, after arriving at the launch site in October. The launch date was delayed by a week due to unfavorable weather.

The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) began project development in 1996, planning for a launch in 2007 at a cost of USD550 million. After NASA contracted Northrop Grumman to build the telescope, mission managers estimated a 2010 launch would cost between one and 3.5 billion USD. Redesigns to reduce technical requirements pushed launch plans to 2013 for an estimated cost of USD4.5 billion. The US Congress ordered a project review in 2010 which delayed the launch again to 2015.

Due to an estimated cost of USD6.5 billion, the United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies proposed canceling the telescope altogether in 2011. After a plan was made for a 2018 launch at a cost of USD8.8 billion, technical errors found in the telescope and the subsequent COVID-19 pandemic pushed the launch date to 2021.

Newspaper Article Claims Hunting Worse Than Dogfighting

Newspaper Article Claims Hunting Worse Than Dogfighting

by

Justin McDaniel

As hunters, we are used to attacks on our lifestyle from the animal-rights-vegetarian-vegan coalition. But an article by Matt Spencer in the Lowell Sun (“Give Bambi a shotgun, then hunting would be a fair fight,” July 19) stating that hunting is worse than dogfighting was so mindboggling and utterly fraught with fallacies that we had to set the record straight.

A few excerpts from the story are sure to get your blood boiling: What does your pristine sport have to do with the outlawed mayhem of ultimate doggie brawls? Well, you dont have to go hunting for the answer. I’ll fire back the reality. There is a difference. Hunting is worse. Hunting is deadly certain. At least when White Fang is brawling, he has a fighting chance. In hunting, the bullet and arrow offer no TKOs. You hunters dont give a flying duck about protecting the wildlife. And I don’t give a flying duck about your rights as hunters. You are not outdoorsmen, or sportsmen. To claim that you are conservationists would be like saying ExxonMobil is peddling the idea of getting more cyclists on the roads. It astounds me that Michael Vick is jailed as a war criminal, deemed worthy of a Nuremberg tribunal, yet armed citizens are licensed by our states to get their jollies blowing Bambi, Bullwinkle, Braer rabbit and even Yogi Bear to smithereens. As someone who has never executed a fellow mammal, I am even more astounded by the fact that states encourage children to join in on the kill shots. In the Bay State, I was shocked to learn that a child at the tender age of 15 can get a hunting license. I would like to counter Mr. Spencers anti-hunting diatribe with just a few facts, since he chose not to do so. First of all, his claim that hunting is worse than dogfighting is absurd to anyone who has actually hunted a day in his or her life. The ranks of hunters are filled with decent, hard-working, family-oriented people that make up the very fabric of this country. Those who engage in dogfighting are criminals, pure and simple. Hunters are not. With that said, I particularly take offense to Mr. Spencers statement that hunters are not conservationists. In fact, hunters are the ultimate stewards of our wildlife and land resources. The taxes and license fees paid by hunters have generated funds to purchase millions of acres of public land and improve wildlife habitat. Since 1937, hunters have contributed more than $4 BILLION through the Pittman-Robertson Act for the benefit of all wildlife species. In 2007 alone, hunters and shooters contributed $233 million in Pittman-Robertson funds. Virtually all outdoor enthusiasts benefit from the excise tax dollars hunters pay on guns, ammunition and related equipment. The bird watchers, hikers and bikers dont need to pay a cent to fund the outdoor pursuits they enjoy. Why should they open their wallets when hunters foot the bill for them? In addition, hunters DO care about protecting wildlife. Hunting keeps game populations in balance with their habitat. When a population exceeds the habitats carrying capacity, sickness and die-off are the result. Hunting keeps overall game populations healthy and sustainable. For example, in 1900, whitetail deer populations in this country totaled 300,000. With the help of regulated hunting, wildlife management paid for by hunters, and an influx of Pittman-Robertson dollars, whitetail populations today number more than 20 million. There are other facts I could provide in support of huntingit prevents deer-auto collisions and keeps our insurance rates from skyrocketing; it provides nearly 600,000 Americans with work; it strengthens family bonds with time spent together outdoors; and it feeds our country, not just with the meat itself, but also because of the crop damage and livestock predation it prevents. But perhaps the number one fact that Mr. Spencer apparently missed is this: 73 percent of Americans approve of legal hunting, according to the Congressional Sportsmens Foundation. Only 10 percent believe hunting should be illegal. I would venture to guess that dogfighting would receive a much less favorable public reception. Just ask Michael Vick.

US VX nerve gas disposal test a success

Monday, May 9, 2005

Workers at Newport Chemical Depot in Indiana have completed a successful test-run of a chemical reactor designed to dispose of Cold War stockpiles of VX nerve agent.

After encountering initial difficulties when the temperature in the reactor grew too high, workers were able to adjust the speed of the device. 180 gallons of VX and water were turned into a caustic but far less lethal compound, that can be further reprocessed into an inert substance.

A residue of 14 parts VX per billion remained; the Army’s eventual goal is less than 20 parts. One drop of VX can kill a grown man.

The conversion of the VX stockpiled at the facility is projected to take two years. Then the drain cleaner-like waste product with its small residue of VX will need to be sent to another facility for reprocessing into a safer, biodegradable compound.

A controversial plan has Dupont doing the reprocessing at their facility in New Jersey, and dumping the compound into the nearby Delaware River.
